6 Tips on how to stay healthy during the weather change

The weather is quickly changing and it’s the perfect time to catch a cold. Below are a few tips on how to avoid a cold and stay healthy and happy during this time!

1. Drink Lots of water!
2. Wash and sanitize hands often
3. Drink at least 2 Vitamin C packets a day(can buy them at CVS)
4. If you feel like you are getting sick, get Airborne- (drink one every 3-4 hours(also at CVS)
5.Eat lots of fruits and vegetables!
6.Wear layers!

So aside from working out, eating healthy, and grinding with my studies, I also love fashion! I love everything about it; shopping, putting outfits together, looking at my wardrobe and of course looking like a BAD BISH. The only thing I hate about it is, it can be so expensive! * note to self: become a billionaire, so I can buy everything I want* NOTED.

Anyways, according to Urban Dictionary fashion is defined as: a sense of style that changes from decade to decade, century to century. BUT, I define fashion as expressing your personality and style through your wardrobe. THIS is part of what makes us unique as human beings. In this section of my blog you will find what’s HAWT and what’s NOT according to yours truly. The first topic on hand is LIPSTICK because I wear it almost every day!

LIPSTICK IS HAWT!

It was my sophomore year in college when I really truly understood how M.A.C lipstick could change my life (SERIOUSLY M.A.C IS EVERYTHING!) I was going out one night and my roommate told me I should wear a red lip with my outfit and after that night, I, nor my lips were ever the same. I discovered that my lips, with the right color had the ability to complete an outfit. I wore a red lip almost every time I went out for the rest of the semester because that’s how much of an impact it had on my life.

I came to the realization that lipstick is so much more than just a colored cosmetic applied to the lips from a small stick. They are ACCESSORIES, OUTFIT CHANGERS, and in my personal opinion LIFE CHANGERS. Now a lot of my non-wearing lipstick friends have come to me and said one of the following:

1.Lipstick won’t look good on me

2.I don’t even know what color I would wear

3.LIPSTICK WON’T LOOK GOOD ON ME

My answer to them, has always been (and this applies to all my ladies) lipstick looks great on every one! You just have to find what colors suit you the best. EMBRACE THY LIPS: I know it’s completely different going from a bare lip to a LUCIOUS lip, but trust me gals, ONCE YOU GO M.A.C YOU’LL NEVER GO BACK.

So I encourage all of my ladies to be bold and venture out to the nearest M.A.C counter this weekend and get you a BAD BECTH LIP COLOR! I promise you won’t be the same after, because remember, ONCE YOU GO M.A.C YOU’LL NEVER GO BACK!

Good Morning Hawties!!

I just wanted to remind everyone including myself that if we want something for ourselves we must work towards it everyday with no excuses!  Any goal is attainable.  We have the ability to be anything we want to be, but if we don’t show commitment, determination, effort and in my opinion faith then there isn’t anything anyone else can do for us.  It starts within!! Hey Everyone! Just an update on how my first week of the NO-CARB life went!

I cheated on my NO-CARB diet and I blame Bus Boys and Poets restaurant for my bad behavior. It was Friday, October 3rd, Day FIVE of my no-carb diet. I had just finished my 6am workout and playing tennis when I decided to order food for breakfast. I called Bus Boys and Poets and ordered the steak and egg. I specifically asked them to substitute the fruit for the home fries and toast. I hung up the phone, waited about 5 minutes and went to pick up my food because I was starving! I got back home, washed my hands and looked inside the bag. The back contained a cup that said “fruit” , a mini box that said “steak, and a bigger box that said “eggs.” I opened the small steak box first and just had to take a bite of the deliciously smelling steak.(mmmm!) Then I took out the larger box that said “eggs”.

I opened the box and not only were there eggs in the box but also a beautiful looking piece of wheat toast. Now, if my dedication level was on a hunnid, then I would have thrown that piece of toast away, so that I could continue the NO CARB. But after 4 days of no carbs, that piece of toast honestly looked like a stack of pancakes to me lol. SO, long story short, I ate the toast and I felt really guilty afterwards. But its partially not my fault because I specifically asked for NO TOAST. Right? I mean that toast was looking  all sexy and grainy and toasty. It just had to be eaten. ANYWAYS, I have modified my diet plan so I don’t go insane: NO CARBS on the weekdays! Weekends are fair game!!

Who Wants a Shot?

If you’re like me, vegetables aren’t something you get excited about, let alone eat on the regular. If I’m not dieting, I’m usually satisfied with a main dish that might include chicken, rice and bread. But, since I’m on day 2 of my no-carb diet, vegetables are quickly coming back into my life and this time I can’t avoid them.

Before I started eating clean, my vegetable intake was very sporadic. I would eat a Caesar salad here, some green beans there and maybe some broccoli in Panera’s broccoli and cheddar soup (which I just had today-so delicious). Sometimes I would go days without eating vegetables and after a while I would start to feel guilty. As soon as I felt this way, guess where I went??? SMOOTHIE KING. Yes! I went to my love for help and as always he had just the right thing for me! A WHEAT GRASS SHOT.

I will admit, they’re not the best tasting; like you literally need a GOOD chaser, it’s worse than the cheapest tequila and I rather eat baby food, BUT they are EXTRMELY healthy for you! THE NO-CARB CHALLENGE
